The 2013 Robert E. Oliver Award: Recognizing Excellence

Each year, ASC awards the Robert E. Oliver Scholarship to recognize academic excellence and outstanding citizenship of a post-secondary student of marketing or advertising.

We are pleased to award the 2013 Robert E. Oliver Scholarship to Amelia Layne, a fourth year Bachelor of Commerce student at Dalhousie University in Halifax, majoring in Marketing Management.

In addition to excelling academically in a rigorous marketing program, Amelia has been an active volunteer with numerous organizations and programs, including Habitat for Humanity and the International Student Support Program at Dalhousie. Amelia, originally from Barbados, also started her own successful business in three different locations worldwide through the Dalhousie Co-op program.

The Scholarship commemorates Robert E. Oliver, an architect of advertising self-regulation in Canada and our organization’s first president, and was established to promote the professional practice of advertising.

ASC congratulates Amelia for winning this prestigious award.
